About Pasqualino's

Pasqualino's Italian Restaurant was founded in 1971 by the Pasqualino family as Pizza Palace. We started in a tiny storeroom around the corner from our current location, where we moved to in 1986. Though still affectionately referred to as Pizza Palace or simply as "The Palace" by many of our longtime customers, the name change reflects the pride we have in the evolution of our menu to include many of our traditional southern Italian family dishes, perfected in our kitchens at home over many decades.

We doubt few restaurants have the commitment to hard work and dedication that Pasqualino's has in preparing our house-made recipes. Using the finest and freshest all-natural ingredients available to compliment our recipes, we begin our day around five am, seven days a week, to hand-make almost everything on our menu. Whatever we don't make ourselves is made for us using our recipes, or is chosen with the same attention to quality and wholesome ingredients we have proudly used for over forty years.

Throughout our history, Pasqualino's has only used second or third generation family-owned supply houses that share our strong work ethic, providing a commitment for the trust and respect of the "partnership" between supplier and customers. Our cheeses, olive oil, pastas and other ingredients are quality brand-name labels. We never use private labels from big-box supply houses where the packing source is often unidentifiable, and many times interchangeable. Our produce is hand-picked fresh each day by a third generation produce man working alone to hand-pick the freshest and most vibrant produce. Through our affliation with Shadyside Academy Farmer's Market, we purchase fresh, in-season produce from local,family-owned farms. Our butcher is a second generation, family-owned business, USDA inspected, who pride themselves on the quality of their beef and poulrty sold only to the finest restaurants in the city.

The decor of Pasqualino's is inviting, reminiscent of the Italian home kitchen, where meals for family and guests are not only prepared, and also served. Pasqualino's maintains a mutually respectful working relationship with the Allegheny County Health Department to operate one of the cleanest restaurants in all of Pennsylvania. In our latest Food Safety Assessment Report, performed on January 5, 2011, available online at achd.net, the inspector noted that our "Restaurant is very clean. No debris or build up in hard to reach places behind and under immovable equipment. Floors of the kitchen, prep, and dining areas are kept very clean."

Experience Pasqualino's fresh, house-made difference. We invite your family to join ours, to dine in our restaurant or for take away orders to your home or office. Let Pasqualino's do the cooking for your next event - Catering, Party Trays, and a Party Room is available to make your party a bella festa.
